The Claw!
Jimmy thought out all lessons and taught the most practical lessons that could do the most damage.
Students change and think they look cool, not practical. Example would be a fast claw to the eyes, they have their palm facing the ground and whip all four fingers across the eyes at the same level and maybe, you could hurt someone and maybe not. Jimmy’s words, “open your fingers and when you claw you have 4 chances to claw the eyes”. I say 4 1/2 because the thumb is out there and if one of you move it may still hit the eye. I think it is basic 6 where the guy throws a left punch. You step in with a right foot and do a short up windmill block to get the hand out of the way to get a space to claw. Make a hard strong claw and rake the face. Tip, You may want to short block with an open hand using the back of your wrist so the claw can react quickly. Now the is not only cool but practical, maybe that’s why they call it an art.
There are 1000s of techniques in our art and others..some may look kinda sloppy..I love how Jimmy taught to base out your lessons ..its a golden rule..but throw out most that are flashy but in reality would be worthless in the real world
