Fight to win, this guy did not.
Many mistakes here, if not for the other Deputy this guy would be dead. First, he is way too fat, when on his back, he could not get up, plus his clothes did not fit. Just before he helped the POS into the chair he pulled his pants up with both hands exposing his gun. Then he had a little trouble getting the guy in the chair so he reached across to fix the problem using both his hands with his gun in front of the bad guy making it easy to disarm him. A little useless roll around on the floor and the guard is out of breath, he then rolls over and places his arm over his face preparing to eat some bullets. No one ever truly knows what he will do however I can say what he did not do. In a fight like that you fight to win, if the man has my weapon and you can not talk him down, I would fight to kill or do serious injury no matter what the rules are. You need to think out and prepare, you should have a belt that holds up your pants, back up weapons (gun, knife, tear gas) etc. Some covert things I won’t mention, do your research about the prisoner, are his wounds a bone break or operation what are his weak spots to stomp or grab. You might ask what happened to him as you drive, does it hurt much, now you may have a target. So if you think you are going to die try to run, scream, yell, bite scratch and attack.
