When I began learning weapons I asked Jimmy, “when a student demonstrated with a staff weapon with a blade, how do you keep track of the direction of your blade when doing a fast form”? Some of those would be a spear, quan do, pa, etc. He said you should take a tool like a sander, a file, chisel, sharp knife and carve a small thin flat line all the way from the attached edged weapon all the way down the staff. This way you can feel without looking where
the edge is. Now you that demo the staff don’t need to make that cut, heh heh
