Principles!
I decided to put this up because it contains some very good information from a great fighter. Don’t think it is mixing Arts because some leverage and breaks are Universal. It can work in many Arts, if I see a good move I scoop it up. Even if we may do something by nature but we never really thought about it to put in our memory bank or pass it on to students. He showed some interesting techniques. How many of us thought that if you grab an arm further down you have more leverage and possibly an easier break, or if the guy seems strong you go one way, if he seems weak, you go the opposite way. The closest to that in Kung Fu would be sticking hands and Jimmy did that but not in the studio as far as I know. I found a Grand Master from Ed Parkers who would play it with Jimmy when he visited, when Ed would get a phone call. Also notice the grabs to the nerves/muscles at the elbow when they apply a leverage. Good stuff.
