I was cleaning out my computer and found this from Jim Benkert, this is important because when we are gone, they will start pushing the same old lies but keep these to prove them wrong. There will be more as I clean out my computer (I have 6 or 7). Remember information like this comes straight from Jimmy’s son who also told me he looked in the books and they had nothing to do with Kung Fu they are English Gothic.
Jim Benkert sent me some of his research material several years ago which he received from Jimmy’s son Warren Woo which was the same as I had gotten when I interviewed Warren on the phone. I posted this here so you can see there are more of us who are giving you the truth. Warren is a great guy and was ready to answer whatever he was asked.
OK Ron, here is one of the things Warren sent me about Jimmy and his father.
CHAN MING JUN (story from Jimmy’s son, Warren Woo) Well as the story goes my Grandfather (Chan Ming jun) came to the west first around 1919 or so 10 or 12 years before my father (Chan Siu Duk (aka; Jimmy H. Woo)). He was a Mule skinner in Mexico (whatever that was, this came from my Mother) and rejoined my father in the mid, or late 30’s My Grandfather was a cook in a Nightclub in either Pasadena or Glendora somewhere around there (I’ll have to ask my mother for the details) I remember my mother was a waitress for my Grandfather when I was very young before age 5 so it was pre-1960 she worked on Saturdays and all of us kids would go the movies (remember then you could see two movies and a cartoon)then pick us up and return the restaurant for dinner. My Father also opened a restaurant but returned to produce, as far as I know he never was a blackjack dealer, but he did love to gamble. I remember one time I was in Reno and just happened to run into him there, he said “I just flew up for a couple of hours, don’t tell Bernie”. Of course I didn’t. I don’t believe she would have wanted to talk to me anyway she always did her best to keep my father and myself apart.
